Meet Your Host!
Educator. YouTube Host. Podcast Personality.
Call me, Nick! I am a professional landscape photographer committed to sharing the beauty, stories, and experiences of the Great Lakes. Growing up in the region has been a privilege, captivating me since my early years.
My father, born and raised in Thunder Bay, shared many stories and tales of his youth on Lake Superior with me when I was young. These stories inspired me to explore the lakes and the region as I learned the art, craft, and science of landscape photography. I recognized how much my father’s stories shaped my life and guided my journey, and resolved to creating the Lakescape Photography Podcast, hoping to inspire others the same way my father inspired me.
An outdoorsman first and a photographer second, I am drawn to the moments that define my experience in the great outdoors. Being physically present as the rising sun paints the landscape, camping deep in the wilderness along age old waterfalls, or watching dappled light break through storm clouds. Moments like these and many more draw me to photography, not the other way around.
The goal of the podcast is simple - inspiration. From first-hand experiences, to techniques and principles, all the way to conservation and preservation. We will cover these topics, and many more, on this podcast.
I am excited to be your host, and honored to have the privilege of representing such a beautiful and diverse region. I thank you for listening and enjoying the podcast, and hope that it resonates with you and moves you the same way my father’s stories did for me.
Cheers my friends!
