THE BEST OF 2024

As we close out 2024, I want to share some of my favorite images of the year. This has been an incredible year, filled with wonderful people, experiences, and adventures. One of the best years yet, even. From taking on new challenges at the start of the year, to finishing it strong these last few months. Goals were met as I continued to define my body of work, and myself.

The photos below are a small fraction of what I actually captured this year. I am still sitting on a few for a rainy day, and there are others that I am sure I will find inspiration in one day. That is the beauty of this adventure though. It is always changing, evolving, and guiding us to the next great thing ahead.

As we move into the New Year, I want to say thank you to each and every one of you. Those who share their love on social media, the incredible people I have met out on the trails, and my fellow photographer friends who inspire, motivate, and encourage me when things get rough. Last but certainly not least, my wife, Katie and our beautiful boys, Wesley and Oliver. Your encouragement, love, and dedication is the driving force behind everything I am today. I will never be able to put it to words, just know, at the end of every trip it is your love, and smiling faces that guide me home.

Forest Sentinels - Pines stand watch over Little Presque Isle in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Curves - The Big Carp river flows toward Lake Superior, dressed in its autumn best.

Arrowhead Falls - This is my favorite image of 2024. One that, for me, represents the changes, growth, and memories of the year. A scene that reminds me of my youth spent with my father hiking the many trails and parks of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

I am excited for the New Year, and look forward to the new opportunities and adventures ahead. I feel a slight pang of sadness each time one more year comes to a close. However, I am excited for all that the New Year has in store. It is the closing of one chapter and the start of the next!

As we move into 2025, I have monthly trips planned, some new on location videos coming up, and a very exciting year of the Lakescape Photography Podcast ahead! Things are just getting started. I hope you are as excited as I am for what the New Year brings, and I wish you all a very happy, healthy, and prosperous year ahead.

To close 2024, I leave you with this:

Always be true to yourself, and who you are. Walk with kindness, love, compassion, and empathy in your heart. For loved ones, friends, strangers, and even those that have done you wrong. It is not your responsibility to suffer for others. Be in control of yourself and your environment, and protect your peace. That is the secret to happiness my friends. Let your light shine its brightest in the New Year.

God Bless!
